I worked on color this week for a photo assignment. There are two of these photos that I really like because of the difference of colors shown. They really show the changing colors of fall and gee, fall is sure beautiful. Also for my other photos I did one of a dishwasher. Has anyone seen those fridge shots where they set the camera in the fridge and take the photo? Well i kinda changed that up, I put the camera in the dishwasher (sketchey, I know) and self timed it. I think it turned out pretty legit. I always try to put my style out there and make it my own and not copy others with my work. Photography is truly a hobby/profession that gets people worked up when others copy their work. Back to this whole color stuff, I’m not sure what it is about color, but I really do not like taking color photos. Not sure why, but I just strongly dislike it. I think that color is so over done and so easy to mess up on (for me at least) But black and white is just a lot more fun. For these photos I really spent a ton of time on them and truly put my effort in all of these photos. Please observe and enjoy:

He does black and white as well as color, but man oh man, his color is COLOR and many of his photos are all about the color.
Nothing wrong with looking at the work of others, you should. On occasion it is okay to borrow and idea, but as you have done make it your own. I really like the dishwasher shot. Watch your backgrounds- what are the stick looking things in the background on this image?The way this image is shot is could be an ad that talks about how spacious the dishwasher is.
I am not sure that any of your photos are really about color though. Each of them has a little too much grey/white/black in them that takes away from the message of color. If this is something that you don’t feel comfortable doing, I really think you should try it again.
For years and years (high school especially) I hated shooting sports. Once in college working for the school paper, somehow I wound up getting assigned shooting all the sports. I started to love it, and now I shoot sports for the Spokesman. I still don’t care much for sports, but I do like shooting sports.
