Welcome to Photo by Steve. Click to continue.

This is a longer post due to not having a previous post for the week before. I was in Canada for Thanksgiving break which was really nice. Got to relax, take some photos, snowboard, play some kendama, sleep, and sit in the hot springs. Sleep, wow. It is a blessing to be caught up on my sleep. When I was up there, I didn’t get as many photos as I planned I would, but I still went out a few days on walks just shooting. Now on to the other photos; most of these didn’t have any specific topic, just working with some new ideas, breaking out of the same-old, same-old. With the pool shots, they are a tad bit noisy, but still are some fun photos. I really was working with lighting on the drum photos, which actually learned some sweet new stuff I plan on applying to some future projects. I have been taking my camera with me pretty much everywhere recently, just getting some different places is always fun.

Here are this weeks and last weeks photos:

  1. Wow…… this is really really weird…. we have been shooting almost the exact same stuff landscape wise… check this http://s6photoblog.blogspot.com/2008/12/mountains.html

That mountain shot is of the same exact mountain and we edited them also completely identical to each other….

And then on top of that I was going to do a post on S6 photo and a shot I was gonna post is one of mountains in the morning with the moon and alpenglow… pretty much exactly what another one of your shots is….. this is crazy… but i guess you know what they say…. great minds think alike hahahahah

  2. Where to start? You have such a big variety on here. First thing that really jumped out at me is the moon in the landscape photos- the dark halo around it really screams of being edited and not realistic. Be careful on your editing.

Photo 1 of the dark alley- really like where you are going with that. I would like to see a little more detail in the shadow areas, but as a whole I am liking the feel of it.

The drum shots- liking those as well. I wish you would have more of a write up talking about the lighting setup, what you were trying, did you accomplish it, maybe some outakes that did not work so well and what you learned from it, some links that you looked at, etc.

  3. I get moon halo quite a bit too…. The best thing I’ve found to do with it is bump down the clarity
