Surrealism

I wasn’t too hyped on this project for class but I need to try it and get better at it. Surrealism takes a lot of time, a lot of patience, and a lot of trail and error. That is my conclusion. I originally wanted to do a shot of something to do with a lake and a man walking on it. Didn’t happen. So I changed it. I got inspired by a Dragon Ball Z thing that someone posted on Facebook. So for this photo, I shot a photo of fire on a orange ball. Later on Twitch told me that rubber cement works really well for fire-coated objects. I will defiantly try that in the future! Then I had a studio shot of Brandon, looking like he was shooting fire out of his hands. It took me a long time to find a brush set that I liked, but I finally found one. http://www.photoshoproadmap.com/links/go/1346 That place really had the best fire brushes I could find. I surfed around for some other ones, but this had the effect I was going for. All around, this photo did not turn out what I wanted. I wanted an animated, dragon ball z power flame bursting out of his hands. But I did learn about brushes and how to make a good coated fire ball. 1 ftw. Here is the photo:

Fire can be a tough item to deal with, and you did a good job with it. Not sure how much this fits into surrealism, more videogame genre, but nice work on it. Be proud of it.

Wow good job on the picture. I really like the fire effect in the image. How did you get to take this good picture what is your strategy? What ever it is I like it.
