So far this semester I have been doing to film photography and not a whole lot of digital. I haven’t finished my rolls of film or developed them yet, but that might be next week. Im really enjoying this film stuff and I hope the photos turn out :/ Anyways, with the digital camera this week, I did a little night photography and some sunset shots. I really love doing sunset photos, they just feel really strong and show lots of emotion and there are so many different types of photos you can make out a sunset. With the one one of Scott walking, there was fog near the lake and the mountains, and with the light perfect on the fog, it was tented green. I was quite surprised on how it turned out. Also I have a night sky photo and a portrait of Tim Darlington. I really like the portrait, 1 because it is not just the normal portrait downtown, 2 I really liked how it was blown out and just made it more unique than the other portraits I took of him. There is this ski photographer Erik Seo, who had this photo I was looking at on his blog, and it was of the sun, but nothing really to do of my photos that I took, but he really triggered something in my mind to take some more sunset photos because I was running out of ideas. Here are the photos:

So with the night sky, you can see me in 4 different places. Scott helped me with the light painting part, I stood there and moved and he traced me with a flash light. I really wanted to try something new with lighting at night and I guess thats what came to mind.
Thanks,
-Steve

Digging the shots. The kendoma (sp?) shot is not doing a whole lot for me though.
First photo- Really like the composition, i think you could have burned down the sky s a little to give a little more detail to it.
The painting the with light photo- it is going in the right direction. For sake of balance, there needs to be a little more light on the right side of the image. Perhaps hit the ducks with a little light or have you be over there for at least one figure of you.
The final portrait- the more I look at it the more I like the composition. I am not digging too much on the blown out look of it, but the composition is nice.
