Movie Poster

For my movie poster I did it in a horror film theme and kind of a creepy feel. I was mainly inspired by the movie poster photo on the class blog, but kind of gave it my own twist and made it more my own. Innovate, not imitate right? First of all I shot a photo of my friend Cody in some trees behind my house. I put one strobe behind him for back light and originally I had a light to the right and behind the camera and then a light in the back for fill light but didn’t get the whole “creepy” feel. So I got rid of the front light and just used the fill light to light up Cody from behind and bring the shadows of his legs to the front. I used the motion blur filter over a lot of the text fonts to give it that horror movie film look. Enjoy:

The subject in the picture is very menacing and the backlighting really accentuates that fact! So excellent use of lighting. And the Text blur on the title is very classic Horror Movie. Why everyone went with a horror movie for THE STUDENT. is beyond me. But Its cool and I like what you put at the top about being produced by the makers of “The Teacher”

I really like this, especially cody’s pose, it makes his body almost seem deformed with the way his neck is, definitely adds to it.
Just for future reference usually backlighting like this is called rim lighting cuz it creates a rim around the subject. Play with it as much as you can because this is huge in action sports to get the rider out of the background without having to stop down too much making the subject alot brighter than the background.
Your lighting is making leaps and bounds in short periods of time nice work
